Roofing warranties you can count on
A roofing warranty is only as strong as the roof itself. If a roof isn’t built to manufacturer specifications — including required system components, materials, and installation standards — warranty coverage can be limited or denied.
What matters most is a complete roofing system installed correctly, not just what’s written on paper.
Our Approach to Warranties
At Cap City Roofing, we don’t treat warranties as an add-on or upgrade. Our standard asphalt roof installation is an Atlas Signature Select® Roofing System, which is designed to deliver comprehensive, manufacturer-backed protection when installed and registered properly.
We build every qualifying roof to meet Atlas’ system requirements from the start, and we handle registration and documentation as part of our standard process. That approach gives homeowners clearer protection and fewer surprises down the road.
To qualify for full Signature Select coverage, specific requirements must be met, including:
- Installing the complete roofing system — not just shingles
- Using required underlayment, starter shingles, ventilation, and ridge components
- Following Atlas installation standards
- Proper documentation and registration after installation
If those steps aren’t followed, coverage may be limited — or denied entirely. Our job is to make sure that doesn’t happen.
We don’t sell better warranties as an upgrade — we build every roof to qualify for full system protection.
Roofing System Components
A roofing warranty applies to the system as a whole — not just the shingles you see from the ground. Proper protection depends on how all required components work together, from underlayment and ventilation to starter materials, field shingles, and ridge details.
When these elements are installed correctly and in accordance with manufacturer specifications, they form a complete roofing system eligible for full warranty coverage. That’s why our focus is always on building the system properly from the start — not cutting corners or skipping required components.

Manufacturer-Backed Protection (Asphalt Roofing)
Atlas backs the warranties on our asphalt roofing systems, meaning coverage comes from the manufacturer of the roofing materials — not just the installer.
When an Atlas Signature Select® Roofing System is properly installed, coverage includes:
- Full system coverage (not just shingles)
- Non-prorated labor and materials coverage during the Premium Protection period
- Tear-off and disposal costs when required
- Transferable coverage to a subsequent homeowner (subject to Atlas terms)
This level of protection is only available when the complete system is installed and registered correctly — which we handle as part of our standard process.
Warranties for Metal Roofing Systems
For metal roofs, material warranties are provided through our metal supplier and manufacturer partners rather than a national shingle brand. These warranties typically reflect the long service life and durability of metal roofing systems, which are designed to perform for decades with proper installation.
Many homeowners choose metal roofs for their longevity, wind resistance, and performance in severe weather — especially here in South Carolina.
When we install a metal roof, we walk homeowners through what coverage applies, how long it lasts, and what to expect over the life of the roof so there are no surprises.
Accountability Beyond Installation
A warranty is only meaningful if the contractor stands behind their work.
As a locally owned, owner-led company, we stay involved from inspection through completion and beyond. If questions come up after installation, homeowners can reach the same people who oversaw the project — not a call center or rotating sales staff.
We’re also a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business with an A rating, reflecting our commitment to transparency and accountability.
